The Oldies But Goodies "Reach For The Stars" and grab the Grand Prize 7/4/2007 - The Oldies But Goodies Rock 'n' Roll Show won the top award at the Pittsfield Home Town July 4th Parade for the second year in a row, and had a "Blast-Off" doing it as well! Inspired by the lofty parade theme and special appearance of NASA astronaut Stephanie Wilson as Grand Marshall, the Oldies built an accurate rendition of the Space Shuttle orbiter, equipped with moving control surfaces, main engines that spew light and smoke, and an opening cargo bay that revealed The Gang singing songs that allowed spirits to soar and hearts ascend to a higher plane. Along with the Oldies, members and associates of United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County proudly escorted the big white bird on its smooth glide down the parade route. The Oldies But Goodies is a not-for-profit organization that performs semi-annual musical variety shows for United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County. All proceeds go directly to UCP.
