FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
"Home For The Holidays" Hits A Home Run at the Colonial TheatreOldies Perform to Sold-Out Audience at The ColonialDecember 3, 2006 - The Oldies But Goodies "Home For The Holidays" drew a rousing response from a packed house at the Colonial Theatre last night, and heralded the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the all-volunteer community musical theater group. In making the transition from performing in a public school auditorium to a world-class theatrical venue, the cast and crew were faced with changing the character of the show. One cast member commented after, "We raised the bar - and almost tripped over it at first, but everyone pulled together and it all came off..." The compressed schedule, numerous scheduling conflicts, and family emergencies that befell some of the cast members caused several aspects of the production to change on the fly and tested the mettle of the directors, cast and crew, but in the end, the show went off on time and the audience response spoke for itself. The support staff at the Colonial Theatre were professional, courteous, well versed in their craft, and above all, made The Oldies But Goodies Rock 'n' Roll Show feel welcomed and deserving of treatment as performers on the grand stage. The Oldies But Goodies is a not-for-profit organization that performs semi-annual musical variety shows for United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County. All proceeds go directly to UCP.
