FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oldies But Goodies Wish Wanna-Be's WellElayna and Peggy Re-unite on StageIn a showing of good will and camaraderie, members of the Oldies But Goodies Rock 'n' Roll Show swarmed on the Crosby Elementary School Auditorium last night at the opening performance of the Wannna-Be's inaugural show "An Evening at The Starlight Lounge." The Wanna-Be's, headed by ex-Oldies members Tom Taglieri and Elayna Collias, performed a two-act show of nostalgic music, and featured current Oldies But Goodies members Charles Redd, and JaeAnn and Dennis Witzgal. During the second act, Elayna Collias prepared to sing the second of two numbers in her set, but welled up with emotion while staring at her former partner, Peggy Bordeau, seated in the front row. After a poignant pause, Ms Collias reached out to her friend and invited her to take the stage, and the duo performed Patsy Kline's "Crazy" together as if they had never parted company, their voices blending like milk and honey. The Oldies But Goodies cast members present, along with the rest of the audience, were overcome with emotion as the pair effortlessly sang the number with elan. The performance came two weeks after the Oldies had done their spring production "Cruisin' With The Oldies," at the same venue. The Oldies But Goodies is a not-for-profit organization that performs semi-annual musical variety shows for United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County. All proceeds go directly to UCP.
