After the Spring Show closes, the Oldies But Goodies don't just go their separate ways - participation in local events is a real crowd-pleaser and a great way for the group to stay involved with the community. And it's a lot of fun! Events
FloatsWhen you can't find a stage to perform on, bring your own! Then tow it
down the main drag in town to get everyone's attention! The Oldies But
Goodies tried their hand at building a parade float in 2005 with the Pittsfield
Fourth Of July Parade. The float is a quasi-replica of a good - old stereo
with turntable, and the record (label) actually turned! But the music was
live with the Oldies Band playing "on the road..." Later on, the stereo morphed into a nostalgic jukebox for the 2005 Northern Berkshire Fall Foliage Parade, and won the Harry S. Orr Award (2nd prize!) For 2006, the circus theme of the Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade led to the circus train motif of "Welcome Back My Friend To The Show That Never Ends" entry which won grand prize!
